Out of the entire 71,000 seats, 5,468 seats in various courses are unfilled, according to officials.
"For those who have not yet been assigned a seat, a spot round will be held. This round's applicants will only be those who have registered on the internet portal of Delhi University, according to Anand Sonkar, deputy dean of admissions.
During this phase, which will expire on September 5, the institution will make an effort to fill all open seats.
A press announcement from Monday stated that the vacant seats would be announced on Tuesday, August 29, at 5 o'clock. On Wednesday, August 30, candidates have until 4.59 p.m. to apply for the spot round. The assignments will be made public on September 1 at 5:00 p.m. According to the announcement, candidates must accept their seats by September 3 and pay their costs by September 5.
In the meantime, officials stated that only students who were admitted through the CW (children/widows of personnel of the armed forces), ECA (extracurricular activities), and sports categories are eligible for the upgrade window, which allows students to choose a course of their preference if they are not initially allotted one.
However, Sonkar noted, that those who planned to upgrade after the third round could stay in their current seats.
The university completed its third seat allocation list on August 26, which resulted in a total of 65,532 admissions since the process began on July 17. The university is now in the last stage of the admissions phase. DU started classes for UG courses for the 2023–24 session on August 16, however, the procedure is still ongoing.
In the meantime, according to data provided by DU, 53% of the total number of students admitted to UG programs are female and 47% are male. Hansraj College received the most applications, followed by Ramjas, Dyal Singh, Gargi, and Kirori Mal colleges. The amount of admissions does, in fact, depend on.
