The Trump team started thinking of ways to capitalize on his famous mugshots soon after Donald Trump was detained on more than a dozen felony charges as part of a complex criminal investigation emanating from the former US president's loss in the 2020 presidential election.
A new series of mugshots that were inspired by a photograph taken in an Atlanta jail were made available to the public on Thursday.
T-shirts with his mugshots from the jail, priced at Rs 2,800, are now part of his campaign to win the US presidency for a second time in 2024.
'NEVER SURRENDER' is the slogan that appears beneath the mugshots and is printed on t-shirts and coffee mugs. This happened despite the fact that Trump turned himself in on Thursday before being freed on a bail that was reportedly $200,000 in value.
The Republican, who was expected to win the 2024 election, brought himself up after a jury indicted him on charges of racketeering, conspiracy, and making false statements. Trump only stayed at the jail for around 20 minutes before leaving to return to his golf resort in New Jersey. He reiterated his assertion that the prosecution has political motivations as he boarded his private plane at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson airport.
Trump tweeted a new photo of himself frowning shortly after being freed on bond and announced his return to X, formerly known as Twitter.
Trump stated in a post that appears on the website's front page, "Today, at the notoriously violent jail in Fulton County, Georgia, I was ARRESTED despite having committed NO CRIME."
"The American people are aware of the situation. What has happened is an election interference mockery of justice. The Left wants to scare YOU into not casting your vote for a political outsider who prioritizes the needs of the American people. On behalf of our whole movement, however, I entered the lion's den today with the following clear message: I WILL NEVER REFUSE TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR MISSION TO SAVE AMERICA. Don't even consider making a donation if you are struggling because of the evil individuals that now rule our nation. Read Trump's message.
