The former US president has returned to X, once known as Twitter. Trump launched the Truth Social, his own social media network, not long after he was expelled from Twitter. Trump was urged to make a comeback last year when Elon Musk gained control of Twitter, but the former US President was not really interested. However, since Musk changed the platform's name from Twitter to X, he has now made his official debut there.
Trump posted a picture of his arrest along with a link to his website. "Never surrender!" was written beneath the picture. He returned to X after speaking with former Fox News personality Tucker Carlson, who now streams on X.Â
Users were asked to vote on whether Trump should be reinstated on the app after Musk took charge. Nearly 15 million Twitter users participated in the poll and chose to have Trump return. Later, Musk tweeted his affirmation of Trump's reinstatement.
After the decision, Musk quickly relaxed the restriction on Trump's Twitter account and said, "The people have spoken. Trump will regain his position. For those who may not be aware, Trump's tweets in support of the riots at the US Capitol in January 2021 led to the banning of his Twitter account. At the time, Twitter was run by CEO Jack Dorsey, who banned the former US President's personal account due to violations of Twitter policies.
"The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future," Trump wrote in a Facebook on January 8, 2021. They will not, under any circumstances, be disrespected or treated unfairly. In a short while after that, he tweeted once more, "To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th."
Twitter stated, "We have determined that these Tweets are in violation of the Glorification of Violence Policy, and the user @realDonaldTrump should be immediately and permanently suspended from the service." after comparing the language in these tweets to their Glorification of Violence policy. This disclosure was published on the platform's official blog.
