A 19-year-old woman has been strangled by her lover after he refused to marry her in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh.
The incident happened in Fatehpur village on 24/24 when defendant Ajay Chauhan visited the woman and asked her to run away with him to get married. When she refused, he strangled her with a mobile data cable and fled.
It was discovered that the woman had been romantically involved with Ajay Chauhan for seven months. They planned to get married, but the girl's family arranged her marriage elsewhere. Upon learning of the incident, the woman's family quickly reported to the police and filed a complaint against the accused.
The police then opened an investigation and arrested the accused. Â
