Due to operational difficulties, low-cost airline Go First announced the cancellation of all flights until August 31.
The airline announced the choice in a message on social media network X (formerly Twitter), where it had been dormant since May as a result of its voluntary insolvency declaration.
The airline stated on X that "Go First flights are canceled till August 31, 2023 due to operational issues. Customers are kindly asked to visit http://shorturl.at/jlrEZ for more information. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have any questions or issues, don't hesitate to contact us.
Go First also highlighted in the statement that it had requested rapid resolution and the resurrection of operations, and it expressed confidence that bookings would soon resume.
We regret to tell you that Go First flights scheduled to depart on August 31, 2023, have been canceled for operational reasons. The airline said: "We apologize for the interference with your travel arrangements and are dedicated to helping.
Go First suspended flights earlier in May and submitted a voluntary bankruptcy petition to the National Company Law Tribunal, blaming Pratt and Whitney, a US-based engine manufacturer, for the problem. A chunk of its fleet was grounded as a result of this delay.
Go First was given conditional authorization by the DGCA to resume operations, pending interim funding and regulatory approval. According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the airline is permitted to operate 15 aircraft and 114 daily flights.
Go First recorded a total income of Rs 4,183 crore in the fiscal year 2021–22 while employing about 4,200 people. According to reports, airfares on particular routes where the airline operated were affected by the cancellation of Go First flights.
