The President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi also agreed to appoint Kakar as Acting Prime Minister of Pakistan.
A tweet on the official Twitter account of the Office of the President of Pakistan said: "President Dr Arif Alvi has approved the appointment of Anwarul Haque Kakar as Acting Prime Minister."
"The President approved the appointment under Section 224 A of the Constitution," the tweet added.
Later in the appointment, Dawn News quoted Raja Riaz as saying: 'We had previously decided that the interim prime minister should be someone from a smaller province and be a non-controversial figure. Our goal is to eliminate the feeling of deprivation in the small provinces."
"We have finally reached a consensus that Anwaarul Haq Kakar will be the interim prime minister," Riaz added in his speech.
