WI vs IND: Abhinav Mukund says Hardik Pandya's bowling changes seem a bit confusing

Former Indian cricketer Abhinav Mukund knocked out India captain Hardik Pandya in the final T20I match of the series. Confronting Florida in the decisive match, India had to work hard to defend its 166-point goal. The West Indies were 117/1 in 13th place when play was halted due to lightning around the stadium area. With Nicholas Pooran and Brandon King in a hurry, the Windies needed 49 moves from 45 deliveries to win the T20I 5-game streak.

Speaking on Jio Cinema during halftime, former Indian cricketer Abhinav Mukund called Hardik Pandya's changes in bowling a bit confusing. The Indian captain once again failed to topple Axar Pate in a power play and chose to attack with all his might in the opening half. While Arshdeep Singh picked a racket, Hardik Pandya himself proved expensive and dropped out 32 times in his first three rounds.

With Nicholas Pooran at the box office, Pandya didn't invite Axar Patel in and instead decided to cast Kuldeep Yadav. Windies saw off Kuldeep (4-0-18-0) and attacked the rest of the pitchers. They specifically punished Yuzvendra Chahal, who at the time of this writing has dropped 33 runs from laps 2 and 3. "The changes to Hardik Pandya's bowling game seem a little confusing. And I say confusing because I think the rain played a part in deciding who plays the power play. I should have started with Axar Patel, who was the formula winner in the previous game. Axar Patel should have started bowling with a new ball with Arshdeep Singh," Mukund said during the rain delay in the second inning of the game.

"Personally, I wouldn't change a lot from the 4th T20I. I think India was worried about bad weather cutting off five matches," concluded Mukund.

Earlier in the rounds, the Indian players did not achieve a respectable total score. With the exception of 61 of Suryakumar Yadav's 45 balls, the Indian players were unable to make good runs. Hardik Pandya was exceptionally mediocre, scoring 14 out of 18, not giving India the momentum it needed in the final innings of the match.
