A man in Manipur was detained for planning to use ethnic turmoil against India

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) took into custody an individual named Seiminlun Gangte hailing from Manipur on Saturday. This arrest is connected to his purported involvement in a conspiracy centered around exploiting the ongoing ethnic tensions within the state as a means to oppose the Indian government.

Seiminlun Gangte was apprehended in the Churachandpur district. As per the NIA's findings, this conspiracy is allegedly orchestrated by terror organizations based in Myanmar and Bangladesh. Their objective appears to be the initiation of a conflict against the Indian government, capitalizing on the prevailing ethnic unrest in Manipur.

The NIA's investigation has disclosed that these external militant groups have forged a conspiracy in collaboration with certain militant leaders within India. Their primary aim is to incite violence with the goal of sowing discord among diverse ethnic communities in Manipur.

To facilitate this agenda, these external entities have been supplying funds for the procurement of weaponry, ammunition, and various other forms of terrorist equipment. These resources are being acquired from both neighboring regions and other active terrorist factions operating within the Northeastern part of India.

Following his apprehension, the accused has been transferred to New Delhi and will be presented before a court having jurisdiction over the matter.

Additional inquiries related to this case are currently underway.
