After a fight in Aligarh, a kid in class 10 sets another classmate on fire

A distressing incident unfolded at City High School in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, involving a class 10 student who reportedly poured petrol on another student and ignited him during an altercation stemming from the alleged damage to a school bag. The victim, identified as Mohammed Kaif, sustained approximately 25 percent burn injuries and has since been hospitalized. Thankfully, his condition is reported to be stable.

According to law enforcement authorities, the dispute between the students initially revolved around the damage incurred by their schoolbags, eventually escalating into the class 10 student taking the drastic step of setting his fellow classmate on fire.

However, it is noteworthy that the victim, Kaif, contradicts this narrative, asserting that there was no pre-existing dispute or quarrel between him and the accused.

"I was seated at the school grounds when an individual approached me, doused me in petrol, and set me on fire. Fortunately, my friends intervened promptly, extinguishing the flames. There was no discernible issue between us," Kaif recounted.

Kaif's father, Rahees, expressed his distress over the incident and revealed that he had lodged a formal police complaint, demanding appropriate action.

"I received a distressing call in the morning informing me about the incident. My son is currently undergoing medical treatment, and I have taken the initiative to file a police complaint," shared Kaif's concerned father, Rahees.

In response to the incident, the accused student has been suspended from the school, and the police have initiated legal proceedings based on a complaint lodged by Kaif's family. The school administration has also taken steps to establish an inquiry committee to thoroughly investigate the matter.
