Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, who had recently faced criticism from the BJP for his remarks regarding Sanatana Dharma, has once again sparked controversy by referring to the saffron party as a "poisonous snake."
These comments were made during a Sunday's wedding event for DMK MLA Sabha Rajendran in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu. Udhayanidhi Stalin also took a dig at the opposition AIADMK, labeling it as "garbage that shelters snakes."
In a recent statement, Udhayanidhi Stalin's remarks followed Lok Sabha MP and DMK deputy general secretary A Raja comparing Prime Minister Narendra Modi to a snake.
He stated, "If a poisonous snake enters your home, it will not suffice to simply cast it away because it may find refuge in the nearby rubbish. Unless you clear the bushes, the snake will continue to return to your home," explained Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is the son of Chief Minister MK Stalin.
He went on to draw a parallel with the current political scenario, likening Tamil Nadu to their home, the BJP to the poisonous snake, and the AIADMK to the garbage near their home. Udhayanidhi Stalin emphasized that eliminating the AIADMK was essential to rid Tamil Nadu of the BJP.
Previously, A Raja had compared PM Modi to a snake, stating, "Everyone is ready to beat the snake called Modi, but no one has the antidote for a snakebite. They all approach with sticks, but they fear being bitten by the snake. No one has a remedy for that."
He added, "However, Periyar, Anna, and we alone possess the antidote. North Indians have realized that Dravidam is the antidote capable of neutralizing the poisonous snake."
Regarding his earlier comments about Sanatana Dharma, Udhayanidhi Stalin reiterated that his words had been misconstrued and falsely portrayed as a call for genocide. He clarified, "My words were twisted and falsely claimed that I called for genocide. To be honest, genocide occurs in Manipur, where the BJP has been ruling for the past five months, with hundreds of people killed."
