Chandrababu Naidu's son is being questioned in connection with a road scandal

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has summoned Nara Lokesh, the General Secretary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the son of Chandrababu Naidu, to appear for questioning in connection with the Amaravati Inner Ring Road (IRR) scam case. Lokesh has been directed to appear before the CID on October 4th at 10 a.m.

This development pertains to the ongoing investigation into the Amaravati Inner Ring Road (IRR) alignment case by the Andhra Pradesh CID. In this case, Nara Lokesh has been identified as the 14th accused.

The CID officials delivered the summons to the residence of TDP MP Galla Jayadev. Following the receipt of the summons, Nara Lokesh and his supporters organized a protest at Galla Jayadev's residence.

The CID's notice to Nara Lokesh stated that there are "reasonable grounds to question you to ascertain facts and circumstances from you, in relation to the present investigation." Additionally, Lokesh has been requested to provide bank account details for M/s Heritage Foods Ltd, details regarding board meetings, and payment information related to the land transactions under scrutiny.

It is important to note that non-compliance with the terms outlined in the notice could result in his arrest.

Recently, Nara Lokesh met with President Droupadi Murmu and urged her to intervene in what he characterized as the "illegal" arrest of his father and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu. Chandrababu Naidu was arrested on September 9th in connection with an alleged fraud case involving the state's Skill Development Corporation. The Andhra Pradesh CID has accused Naidu of being the "principal conspirator" in a scam that is believed to have cost the state government approximately Rs 371 crore.
