Haryana Congress MLA Mamman Khan, who had been accused in connection with the communal unrest that occurred in Nuh in August, found himself under arrest on Thursday. The Haryana Police cited substantial evidence pointing to his involvement in the violence that unfolded following a Vishwa Hindu Parishad yatra.
Mamman Khan, representing Ferozepur Jhirka, had taken legal action on Tuesday by approaching the court, seeking protection from potential arrest. He contended that he was unjustly implicated in the case, asserting that he wasn't even present in Nuh on the day the violent incident transpired.
However, Haryana Police conveyed to the court that they had identified Mamman as a suspect after conducting a thorough assessment of the available evidence. They further maintained that they possessed phone call records and other corroborative evidence to substantiate their decision.
Mamman Khan is scheduled to appear before the court on Friday.
