India's connection to Khalistani's murder was extensively investigated by Canada and the US: Report

Canada has collaborated extensively with the United States concerning intelligence related to potential Indian involvement in the murder of a Sikh individual in British Columbia earlier this year, as stated by a senior Canadian government source on Tuesday.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau revealed on Monday that domestic intelligence agencies were actively pursuing credible allegations linking New Delhi's agents to the shooting of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a 45-year-old man, in British Columbia in June.

"We have been working in close conjunction with the United States, including the recent public disclosure," conveyed the source. The official, who opted not to provide their name due to the sensitivity of the information, asserted that Canada's available evidence would be shared "at an appropriate time."

The strain in diplomatic relations has also cast a shadow over trade. Canada and India have temporarily halted negotiations on a proposed trade agreement, and Canada has postponed a scheduled trade mission set for October.

A second Canadian source familiar with the situation disclosed that both the suspension of trade talks and the postponement of the trade mission are direct responses to concerns surrounding the Canadian individual's murder.
