Iran temporarily holds Mahsa Amini's father and advises him not to mark her passing

According to a human rights organization, Iranian security forces took Mahsa Amini's father into custody on Saturday but subsequently released him after delivering a warning, cautioning him against commemorating the anniversary of his daughter's passing.

The Kurdistan Human Rights network reported that "Security forces detained Amjad Amini today and returned him to his house after threatening him against marking his daughter's death anniversary."

The tragic demise of Mahsa Amini, which occurred while she was in police custody a year ago, initiated a chain of events that led to extensive anti-government demonstrations lasting several months. These protests evolved into one of the most substantial displays of opposition against the authorities witnessed in Iran in recent years.

As of the time of this report, Reuters had not managed to reach Iranian officials for their comments on this matter.
