On Friday, K Chandrashekar Rao, who serves as both the Chief Minister of Telangana and the leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), took the initiative to communicate with Prime Minister Narendra Modi through two distinct letters. In his first letter, Rao earnestly implored the Prime Minister to expedite the passage of the women's reservation bill during the upcoming special session of Parliament, scheduled to convene on September 18.
In a separate missive addressed to the Prime Minister, Rao, who also holds the esteemed position of the President within the ruling BRS, made a fervent appeal for the commencement of the requisite legislative procedures aimed at instituting a 33 percent reservation quota for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) within both the Parliament and state Legislatures.
This significant decision and subsequent correspondence followed a meeting of the BRS parliamentary party convened in Hyderabad, which was chaired by none other than K Chandrashekar Rao himself. During this gathering, a unanimous resolution was passed, clearly articulating the party's collective stance on these pressing matters, as confirmed by an official release.
