Rahul Gandhi visits a Lok Sabha MP who was assaulted by a BJP politician in "Mohabbat ki dukaan."

On Friday, Rahul Gandhi, a prominent leader from the Congress party, paid a visit to the residence of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Member of Parliament, Danish Ali, located in the bustling heart of Delhi. This visit came amidst the fervent commotion stirred by the objectionable remarks made by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ramesh Bidhuri against the BSP leader within the hallowed halls of the Lok Sabha.

Addressing the media following his meeting with Danish Ali, Rahul Gandhi offered a poignant reflection, stating, "In the marketplace of hatred, let us establish an emporium of love."

Accompanying Rahul Gandhi were Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal and MP Imran Pratapgarhi, who stood in solidarity with their leader.

Danish Ali, visibly moved by the visit, expressed his sentiments, remarking that he felt a profound sense of companionship. He recounted Rahul Gandhi's reassuring words, advising him not to internalize the adversity and to prioritize his well-being. Ali found solace in the realization that he was not battling this situation alone.

The BSP MP went on to emphasize that the incident represented an assault on the very foundations of democracy and the sanctity of the Constitution. He lamented that the precincts of the new Parliament, during the auspicious Amritkal, were now witnessing the emergence of hatred-fueled enterprises on its very streets. He regarded the Lok Sabha as the guardian of democracy and its principles.

In a post on social media, the Congress party shared images from Rahul Gandhi's visit and conveyed their condemnation of Ramesh Bidhuri's deplorable actions, characterizing them as a blot on the decorum of the House. The party vehemently expressed its opposition to the propagation of such divisive and antagonistic sentiments within the revered institution of democracy.

In a parallel development, BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri, responsible for the offensive comments against Danish Ali during a discussion on the Chandrayaan-3 mission within the Lok Sabha, faced widespread public outrage. These comments were subsequently expunged from the records. In response to the controversy, the BJP issued a show-cause notice to Bidhuri on Friday.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury addressed a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, urging him to take stringent actions in accordance with the established regulations against Bidhuri, demanding accountability and adherence to parliamentary decorum.

It is noteworthy that the Congress party is an integral component of the grand Opposition INDIA coalition, whereas the Bahujan Samaj Party, under the leadership of Mayawati, has opted to maintain an independent stance, distinct from this alliance.
