West Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar delivered a resolute message to his party's members during a gathering, urging them to stand fearlessly and respond if confronted by Trinamool Congress members. He assured them of legal support, extending all the way to the High Court and even the Supreme Court if the situation demanded it.
Majumdar emphasized, "If Trinamool Congress members come forward to attack you, do not hesitate to defend yourselves. In case any legal action is initiated against you, I will ensure our party members are granted bail through the High Court. And if it becomes necessary, I will personally take the matter to the Supreme Court." These remarks were made by the BJP leader during a party meeting held in Katwa.
The visit to Katwa was a part of the BJP's extensive 'Amar Mati Amar Desh' program, which seeks to cover every gram panchayat area within West Bengal's 342 blocks and each ward area of the municipalities.
Majumdar, addressing the assembly, asserted his knowledge of how to deal with troublemakers from the TMC by metaphorically suggesting that he could "bury goons" from the rival party "100 feet below the ground." He underscored the BJP's capacity to address grievances if its members faced harm.
Earlier in the week, members of the West Bengal BJP staged a protest at the state's health department office in Kolkata to draw attention to the escalating dengue cases in the region.
During the protest, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari lamented the denial of his request to submit a memorandum to the health secretary, addressing the alarming dengue situation.
