Salman Khan makes light of his dud movies with the phrase "Mere khud ke predictions"

Salman Khan recently made an appearance at the trailer launch event of Gippy Grewal's upcoming Punjabi film, 'Maujaan Hi Maujaan'. During the event, Salman also discussed the performance of his own films at the box office.

Salman expressed his belief that the Rs 100 crore mark should now be considered the minimum standard for a film's box office performance. He stated, “I think the Rs 100 crore mark is going to be the rock bottom now. Everything would be Rs 400-500-600 crore plus now for the Punjabi industry, Hindi industry, every industry. Even Marathi films are doing these numbers. Rs 100 crore is not going to be a very big deal. I think the benchmark should be Rs 1000 crore for a film right now.”

Responding to Salman's perspective on box office numbers, Gippy remarked, “When our films used to do business of Rs 10-15 crore, we would be surprised. Last time, when asked if our film could do Rs 100 crore, we didn’t know what to say. But by God’s grace, everything went well. If Salman sir is saying, then something huge will happen.”

In a light-hearted tone, Salman added, “Mere pe mat jana bhai, picture pe jana, kyuki mere khud ke predictions meri films pe nahi chal rahe (Don't go by what I say, brother, go by the film as my predictions about my own films are not seemingly working).”

For those unaware, both 'Gadar 2' and 'Pathaan' have already surpassed the Rs 1000 crore mark on a global scale. Shah Rukh Khan's latest release, 'Jawan,' is also on track to break that record, having already collected around Rs 900 crore.

Regarding his own projects, Salman is eagerly anticipating the release of his action-packed film 'Tiger 3,' in which he will once again share the screen with Katrina Kaif. Additionally, Salman reprised his 'Tiger' character in Shah Rukh Khan's comeback film, 'Pathaan.'

Directed by Maneesh Sharma and featuring Emraan Hashmi as the primary antagonist, 'Tiger 3' is scheduled for a November release. Salman's most recent release, 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan,' didn't fare well at the box office.
