The Punjab Police conducts raids to capture gang members connected to Goldy Brar

On Thursday, the Punjab Police initiated a series of raids across various districts within the state with the aim of apprehending gang members closely associated with Goldy Brar, who is an accused individual in the murder case involving singer Sidhu Moose Wala. These raid operations commenced at 7 a.m. and are scheduled to continue until 2 p.m., according to officials.

Officials confirmed that they had received instructions from higher authorities to detain these suspects. A comprehensive report detailing the outcomes of these operations will be submitted to the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) by 5 p.m. on the same day.

Goldie Brar, having successfully evaded authorities in India, sought refuge in countries like Canada and the United States, while some of his associates remained within the country.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had filed a case against Goldie Brar under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and there are several other pending cases against him in Punjab.

On the previous day, the investigative agency released two lists featuring 54 individuals along with their photographs who are wanted in connection with investigations into two cases registered last year, aimed at dismantling terror-gangster networks operating within the country.

These lists, one comprising 11 names and the other containing 43, were shared by the NIA via its official account on X, formerly known as Twitter.
