To hell with them, it would be oppressive: Owaisi's stance on the INDIA bloc

Once again, Asaduddin Owaisi, the chief of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and Member of Parliament from Hyderabad expressed his disapproval of the Opposition-led INDIA bloc during a public gathering in Delhi on Monday. He emphasized that he is not part of this alliance and bluntly stated "To hell with it."

Owaisi seemed indifferent to not being invited to join the INDIA alliance, making it clear that he doesn't care about it. He elaborated on his decision by stating that being a part of the alliance would feel stifling and questioned why they weren't taking a stronger stance against the BJP's ideology.

He raised concerns about the alliance's electoral strategy, alleging that they believed they wouldn't secure Hindu votes if they fielded him as a candidate. Owaisi insisted that he was openly addressing these concerns, which he claimed were often discussed privately.

During his speech, Owaisi also directed criticism at former Congress president Rahul Gandhi. He asserted that it was the Muslim League that played a decisive role in securing Gandhi's victory in Wayanad after he lost his Amethi seat in the 2018 Lok Sabha elections.

Rahul Gandhi's comment about Prime Minister Narendra Modi considering AIMIM leaders as his own and not pursuing legal actions against them was referenced by Owaisi. He suggested that the lack of cases against AIMIM leaders demonstrated Modi's favourable disposition toward them.

It's worth noting that Owaisi's remarks about Rahul Gandhi came shortly after Gandhi's statements about the BJP, AIMIM, and other political entities during a rally in Telangana.
