2 Palestinian students were hurt in Punjab, Pakistan, as a result of female peer abuse

Two Palestinian students pursuing their medical studies in Pakistan's Punjab province faced an unfortunate knife attack incident after they intervened to protect their foreign female classmates from harassment by local troublemakers. This incident unfolded in the city of Gujranwala, which is situated approximately 80 kilometers away from Lahore, on a Sunday.

As per the details provided by the police, the victims in this case, Abdul Karim and Khaldoon Alsheikh, both students at the Gujranwala Medical College, engaged in a heated exchange of words with a group of local individuals who had been persistently bothering their female classmates from abroad.

The police further explained that the distressing altercation escalated when a group of approximately seven individuals launched a knife attack on Abdul and Khaldoon as they were exiting their apartment. These attackers happened to be the same individuals whom the victims had reprimanded for their misconduct towards the foreign female students.

Following the assault, the injured Palestinian students received prompt medical attention and were transported to a hospital, where their condition was reported to be stable.

In response to this incident, a case has been registered against the suspected assailants under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code. However, up to the time of this report, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.

It is important to note that the local police authorities have asserted that the attack on these Palestinian students should not be linked to the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. Instead, the confrontation arose from the students' honorable effort to shield their female classmates from harassment by the local troublemakers.
