A NEET student commits suicide in Sikar, Rajasthan, marking the second fatality in three days

In Rajasthan's Sikar district, an 18-year-old student, who was preparing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), tragically took his own life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at a private hostel. The incident occurred on Saturday.

The deceased, identified as Nitin Faujdar, hailed from Nadbai town in Bharatpur district. In June, he had come to Sikar to enroll in a NEET preparation course at a coaching center. On the day of the incident, Saturday, he had chosen to skip his class, according to Station House Officer Surendra Degra of the Udhyog Nagar police station.

When Nitin Faujdar's roommate discovered that their room was locked from the inside, he opened a window and made the distressing discovery of his lifeless body suspended from the ceiling fan, as confirmed by the SHO.

It is profoundly distressing to note that this is the second instance of student suicide within a span of three days in Sikar. On September 5, a 16-year-old NEET aspirant named Kaushal Meena had also taken his own life by hanging in his hostel room.
