In Maharashtra's Thane district, a woman has been charged with assaulting her mother-in-law, and this incident has gained widespread attention as a CCTV recording of the episode has gone viral on various social media platforms. The footage depicts the accused woman engaging in a physical altercation with her elderly mother-in-law, attempting to force her out of the house. Notably, a third woman, possibly a household, is also visible in the video, though she does not intervene in the confrontation.
The charges against the woman include Sections 336, 337, 323, 504, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The case was registered following a complaint made by the victim, the mother-in-law, at the Kopri Police Station. As of now, the local police have not issued an official statement regarding the matter.
The viral video commences with the accused woman instructing her elderly mother-in-law, who is seated on a sofa, to vacate the premises. When the mother-in-law declines the request, the woman resorts to physically assaulting her, forcefully attempting to displace her from the sofa. Throughout this exchange, both women engage in a heated argument, with the daughter-in-law repeatedly insisting that her mother-in-law depart.
Subsequently, the woman proceeds to the main door, opening it widely. She then returns to her mother-in-law, physically pulling her down to the floor. The elderly woman is seen on the ground, attempting to adjust her clothing. The accused woman receives a phone call and engages in conversation with the caller before returning to her mother-in-law, once again trying to escort her out of the house. In response, the elderly woman resists, leading her daughter-in-law to eventually abandon her efforts.
The video concludes with the accused woman seated on a footstool while her mother-in-law remains on the floor in front of her, as their argument persists.
The underlying reasons behind this incident, as well as the circumstances surrounding the installation of the CCTV camera inside the house, remain undisclosed at this time.
