After the Hamas attack, world leaders'stand in solidarity' with Israel


World leaders have expressed their condemnation of the series of unprecedented rocket attacks carried out by the Palestinian armed group Hamas on Israel, resulting in approximately 150 Israeli casualties and over 1,100 injuries during the early morning assaults.

In response to these attacks, Israel declared a 'state of war' following numerous infiltrations and rocket strikes from the Gaza Strip. In a video statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proclaimed that Israel "was at war" and asserted that Hamas would face consequences for initiating the attack.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reacted to the situation, expressing his deep shock at the "terrorist attacks" in Israel and conveying India's solidarity with the nation. He conveyed his thoughts on a public platform, saying, "Deeply shocked by the news of terrorist attacks in Israel. Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with Israel at this difficult hour."

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also expressed his shock at the attacks by "Hamas terrorists" on Israel and emphasized Israel's absolute right to self-defense. He further urged British nationals in Israel to follow travel advice.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan called upon Israelis and Palestinians to exercise restraint and avoid hostile actions that could escalate the situation. He stated, "We call for restraint from all parties" and stressed the importance of refraining from aggressive acts.

European Council President Charles Michel condemned the attacks by Hamas on Israel and affirmed the European Union's solidarity with the Israeli people. French President Emmanuel Macron also condemned the "terrorist attacks" on Israel and expressed full solidarity with the victims and their families.

Egypt issued a warning about the "grave consequences" of escalating tensions between Israel and the Palestinians and called for maximum restraint to protect civilians from further danger. Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri discussed the situation with European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell and stressed the need for both sides to exercise restraint.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock strongly condemned the Hamas attack on Israel, calling for an end to violence and rocket attacks against innocent civilians. Russia revealed that it is in contact with Israel, the Palestinians, and Arab countries regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and emphasized the importance of restraint.

The Ukrainian foreign ministry expressed its condemnation of the "ongoing terrorist attacks against Israel," emphasizing Israel's right to self-defense. The foreign ministries of Belgium and Greece also condemned the rocket attacks on Israel, with Greece expressing deep concern over the escalation of violence.

Additionally, Saudi Arabia's foreign ministry called for an "immediate cessation of violence between Israel and the Palestinians," expressing concern over the heightened level of violence and unprecedented developments between various Palestinian factions and Israeli occupation forces.
