On a journey from Dubai to Amritsar, an Air India Express flight encountered an unexpected situation when a passenger developed a medical issue that demanded urgent attention. Consequently, the flight was compelled to execute an emergency landing in Karachi on a Saturday.
As per the airline's representative, the prompt response in Karachi involved delivering "immediate medical services" to the distressed passenger. After the individual received the necessary medical care and was deemed fit to continue their journey, the flight resumed its course from Karachi to Amritsar, taking off at 2:30 PM.
The spokesperson for Air India Express expounded on the situation, stating, "During our Dubai-Amritsar flight on October 14, a passenger on board experienced a sudden medical complication. The flight crew, in light of this emergency, decided to divert the flight to Karachi, the closest available location to promptly address the medical issue. The flight embarked from Dubai at 08:51 AM local time, reaching Karachi at 12:30 PM local time."
The spokesperson continued, "Our airline maintained close coordination with the airport authorities and local medical personnel, ensuring that the passenger received immediate medical attention upon landing. The airport's medical team in Karachi administered the requisite medical care, and after a thorough medical assessment, the passenger was granted approval by the airport medical team to continue their journey. Subsequently, the flight took off from Karachi at 2:30 PM local time to resume its course towards Amritsar."
