On Wednesday, Delhi Chief Minister and the National Convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Arvind Kejriwal, paid a visit to the residence of Sanjay Singh shortly after the latter's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Sanjay Singh, a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, was taken into ED custody after a thorough 10-hour-long raid.
During his visit, Arvind Kejriwal met with Sanjay Singh's father, wife, and other family members. Kejriwal seized the opportunity to criticize the central government, stating that Narendra Modi is the most corrupt Prime Minister in India since the country's independence.
Kejriwal emphasized the AAP's commitment to honesty, acknowledging that the path of integrity can be challenging. He stressed the importance of maintaining honesty, even in the face of difficulties, and expressed concerns about the consequences of embracing dishonesty.
Highlighting the ongoing investigations related to the Delhi liquor policy scam, Kejriwal stated that despite over 1,000 raids and numerous arrests, authorities have failed to recover any misappropriated funds. He accused Prime Minister Modi of being deeply involved in corruption, going so far as to label him the most corrupt Prime Minister in India's history since gaining independence.
Kejriwal further suggested that Prime Minister Modi's actions were driven by desperation, particularly in light of the formation of the opposition-led INDIA bloc. He speculated that more arrests would likely follow in the lead-up to the 2024 elections. Kejriwal praised Sanjay Singh's courage and expressed confidence in pursuing legal action in response to the situation.
