Bail requests for jailed TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu in three cases were denied

The Andhra Pradesh High Court, in a recent development, has taken the decision to dismiss not one, but three separate bail petitions that were filed by the Chief of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Nara Chandrababu Naidu, across different cases.

Naidu had taken the initiative to approach the court by filing regular bail petitions related to the Amaravati Inner Ring Road and the Angallu attack cases, alongside an anticipatory bail petition concerning the FiberNet case.

To delve into the details, the Amaravati Inner Ring Road case revolves around allegations of "manipulating" the master plan for Amaravati, the capital city. This encompasses issues concerning the alignment of the inner ring road and the seed capital, all of which were purportedly conducted to provide unjust gains to various companies during Naidu's tenure.

On the other hand, the Angallu case has its roots in a series of violent incidents that unfolded during a political rally led by the TDP chief back in August. The rally resulted in clashes, stone pelting, arson, and a riot in Angallu within the Annamayya district and in Punganuru in the Chittoor district. During these events, both police officers and supporters of the TDP and the ruling YSRCP sustained injuries.

Lastly, the FiberNet case pertains to allegations of tampering with tenders and favoritism in the awarding of a work order as part of Phase-1 of the AP FiberNet Project, which amounted to Rs 330 crore. The Crime Investigation Department has claimed that irregularities occurred right from the tender allocation phase to the completion of the entire project, causing a substantial financial loss to the state treasury.

Currently, Naidu finds himself in judicial remand at the Rajamahendravaram Central Prison. This detention stems from allegations of financial misappropriation within the Skill Development Corporation, which allegedly resulted in a significant loss exceeding Rs 300 crore to the state exchequer.
