On Monday, the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) took a satirical swipe at the BJP, highlighting what they perceive as a disparity in the BJP's responses to international and domestic issues. According to the NCP's national spokesperson, Clyde Crasto, while the BJP leadership promptly voiced support for Israel and expressed condemnation for the casualties occurring in the Israel-Palestine conflict, they remained conspicuously silent regarding the ongoing situation in Manipur.
Crasto emphasized the human toll of the Israel-Palestine conflict, underscoring the loss of innocent lives in the midst of this war. He acknowledged that the BJP and its leaders reacted swiftly by issuing statements and expressing their disapproval of the violence in Israel. However, he posited that this should serve as a reminder to the BJP and its leaders that Manipur is an integral part of India.
Crasto went on to assert that, regrettably, the BJP's leaders have refrained from addressing the distress and hardship faced by the people of Manipur, characterizing this silence as a significant omission on their part.
In his view, the absence of commentary from BJP leaders regarding the situation in Manipur conveys a message about their intentions concerning this issue within the context of their homeland. Crasto concluded by emphasizing the importance of diplomatic relationships while stressing that the lives and well-being of citizens should take precedence, urging the BJP to recognize this perspective.
