BJP politicians reply to PM Modi's call for a cleanliness crusade by holding brooms in their hands

Numerous Union ministers and leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took part in a nationwide cleanliness campaign, responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for an hour-long "shramdaan" (voluntary labor) on Sunday. People from diverse backgrounds actively joined this endeavor.

In a recent episode of the 'Mann Ki Baat' radio program, Prime Minister Modi urged all citizens to engage in "one hour of shramdaan for swachhata" on October 1, considering it as a tribute or "Swachhanjali" to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah wholeheartedly participated in a cleanliness drive in Ahmedabad, personally wielding a broom to contribute to the cause.

BJP's national president, JP Nadda, along with Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi, joined the campaign in Delhi's Jhandewalan area. Nadda emphasized the significance of this Swachhata Abhiyan (cleanliness campaign) as a reflection of Mahatma Gandhi's vision.

Ravi Shankar Prasad, a prominent BJP leader, was also visible during a cleanliness drive organized under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' initiative in Patna, collaborating with fellow party workers. He underscored the national importance of the Swachh Bharat (Clean India) mission.

The participation extended to various states, with Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde engaging in the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign in Mumbai. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also took part in the 'Swachhata Abhiyan' program in the same city.

In Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath actively contributed to the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign, donning a mask and holding a broom to exemplify his commitment to cleanliness.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was observed picking up litter as he actively participated in the 'Swacchta Abhiyan' in Ahmedabad.

Other notable leaders, including Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh and UP BJP Chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, wholeheartedly embraced the call for cleanliness and took part in the Prime Minister's cleanliness drive.

On a state level, Uttar Pradesh designated over a lakh sites for cleanliness activities, while Maharashtra pledged to conduct programs in more than 62,000 locations, encompassing beaches, religious sites, educational institutions, and water bodies. In Telangana, temples of historical significance were diligently cleaned during this campaign.
