BJP's third term would put the nation in peril, according to Kerala's chief minister

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan delivered a stern warning on Sunday, cautioning that if the BJP secures a third term in power, the nation will face an "insurmountable danger," and regretting the consequences thereafter would be futile.

In his critique of the BJP-led central government, as well as the RSS and Sangh Parivar, Vijayan accused them of harboring intentions to erode the country's rich diversity and replace it with a nation founded on religious lines.

The Chief Minister of Kerala alleged that communal tensions were being stoked in the country on the basis of issues such as cattle, dietary preferences, and the portrayal of certain groups of citizens as enemies of the nation.

He underscored that every individual, regardless of their religious beliefs, caste, or creed, is entitled to equal protection under the law, a principle that he claimed is undergoing transformation in the country.

According to Vijayan, these developments have instilled fear and apprehension among minority communities. He made these remarks during an event in a northern district of Kerala.

Vijayan expressed a dire prediction: "If the BJP secures power for a third term, the nation will face an insurmountable danger, and there would be no point in expressing regret thereafter."

He asserted that the nation has recognized this reality, and public sentiment is firmly inclined toward preventing this peril. Therefore, a united front comprising secular-minded groups and individuals has emerged with the primary goal of defeating the BJP and ensuring that it does not return to power for a third consecutive term.

The Chief Minister suggested that the BJP has also come to acknowledge the challenging nature of securing a third term. "This realization has prompted them to take some perilous measures, as indicated by recent incidents," Vijayan remarked.

He pointed to the recent actions taken by various central agencies in opposition-ruled states across the country as evidence of how the BJP might respond to changing circumstances.

While acknowledging the likelihood of more such actions from the BJP, Vijayan maintained that these tactics alone would be insufficient to alter or sway public opinion. He emphasized the resilience and strength of the unified front aimed at defeating the BJP and urged for its further consolidation.
