Congress queries Vinayakan's bail, asking, Was it the privilege of being comrade

The Congress party raised concerns on Wednesday regarding the release of Malayalam actor Vinayakan, who had been arrested the previous day for allegedly causing a disturbance at a police station.

Vinayakan, known for his role as the antagonist in the Rajnikanth-starrer 'Jailer,' was granted bail on Tuesday.

Questioning the decision to grant him bail, Congress lawmaker Uma Thomas remarked, "Despite his disruptive behavior at the police station and hindering the duties of the officers, he was released on bail under relatively lenient sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Is this a result of his political affiliation?"

Thomas also raised the question of whether the release was influenced by instructions from the Cliff House, the official residence of Kerala's Chief Minister. Regardless of the reasons, it's evident that the actions of a certain faction of police officers who strive for professionalism have been disheartened.

Notably, Vinayakan was summoned to the Ernakulam Town North police station in the Kochi district on Tuesday evening following complaints of disturbances and commotion at his residence. Subsequently, he was taken into custody by the police after allegedly causing trouble at the police station.
