Moninder Singh Pandher, the primary accused in the infamous 2006 Nithari serial killings case, was released from the confines of Greater Noida's Luksar jail on Friday. This significant development unfolded merely three days after the Allahabad High Court acquitted Pandher in the said case.
The case in question involved gruesome accusations of sexual assault, murder, and even the chilling prospect of cannibalism, all of which pertained to a series of killings that occurred in Nithari, Noida. Moninder Singh Pandher's domestic aide, Surendra Koli, was likewise exonerated by the court but, paradoxically, he continues to serve a life sentence in Ghaziabad's Dasna jail.
Notably, Surendra Koli was convicted for his role in the tragic demise of a 14-year-old girl, an ordeal that ultimately led to his life imprisonment. The acquittal order handed down by the Allahabad High Court cited the failure of the prosecution to substantiate guilt "beyond reasonable doubt." Furthermore, it was noted that the entire investigative process had been marked by severe shortcomings and mismanagement. This case had deeply shocked the nation with its harrowing details of heinous crimes committed in Nithari, Noida.
