The Army Commanders' Conference, a significant biannual gathering, is scheduled to convene in Delhi from October 16 to 20. During this upcoming five-day event, a wide array of topics will be addressed, including discussions on the Indian Army's operational preparedness, the ongoing transformation process, training concerns, human resource management aspects, and issues affecting both active personnel and veterans. These discussions will also encompass an exploration of current and emerging security scenarios.
Notably, this conference will be conducted in a hybrid format, commencing with virtual meetings on the first day, followed by in-person discussions. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to participate in the conference on October 18. Furthermore, distinguished figures such as Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Army Staff General Manoj Pande, and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari are anticipated to address the event.
Additionally, Ajay Kumar Sood, the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, is slated to deliver a presentation on the topic of 'Leveraging Technology for National Security' during this conference. The Army Commanders' Conference holds great importance as an apex-level forum that occurs bi-annually, with sessions in both April and October each year. This event serves as an institutional platform for engaging in conceptual-level discussions, culminating in the formulation of crucial policy decisions concerning the Indian Army.
