Eight airports in France were closed after emails containing "threats of attack" Report

According to the DGAC aviation authority, a total of eight airports in France were cleared and evacuated in response to received emails containing "threats of attack." This development also prompted the temporary closure of the Palace of Versailles due to a recurring security concern, marking the third such incident in just five days.

Initially, the evacuation measures were implemented at several key airports across the country. The affected airports included Lille in northern France, Toulouse in the southwest, Nice in the southeast, Lyon in the east, as well as Rennes and Nantes in the western part of the country, as reported by Reuters.

Subsequently, it was revealed that the security alerts extended to include the Biarritz and Pau airports located in the southwest of France.

France remains on high alert following the tragic murder of a teacher on October 13. The teacher lost his life in a knife attack, an incident officially characterized by the French government as an "Islamist terror attack."

Only a few days earlier, on Monday, a school in France had to be evacuated due to a bomb threat. This incident led to the evacuation of numerous staff and students from a combined middle and high school located in Arras.

Additionally, on the Saturday following the fatal stabbing of the teacher, there were false bomb alerts that resulted in the evacuation of prominent landmarks such as the Louvre museum, the palace, and Paris' Gare de Lyon train station.
