Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has introduced an initiative involving nine Shiv Sena cabinet ministers to engage with the public and address their concerns. This initiative will entail a "Janata Durbar" or public audience to be held at the Shiv Sena party headquarters in Mumbai, where ministers will actively listen to grievances and work towards their resolution. Shinde, as the leader of Shiv Sena and the state's Chief Minister, believes in making the government more accessible to both party members and the general public.
During a meeting, Shinde conveyed the importance of being responsive and available to Shiv Sena members and ordinary citizens alike. The goal is to ensure that the government remains approachable and actively seeks solutions to the issues faced by the people. This commitment extends to problems related to agriculture, local matters at the village and taluka levels, and the various ministries' work.
Each of the nine Sena cabinet ministers has been assigned specific days to hold the "Janata Durbar." Dada Bhuse and Uday Samant will be available on Mondays, Shambhuraj Desai and Sandipan Bhumre on Tuesdays, Deepak Kesarkar and Tanaji Sawant on Wednesdays, Abdul Sattar and Gulabrao Patil on Thursdays, and Sanjay Rathod on Fridays.
Minister Abdul Sattar emphasized that the Chief Minister has directed these nine cabinet colleagues to actively address the concerns and issues faced by individuals, regardless of their background, whether they are workers, farm laborers, farmers, district/taluka leaders within the party, or members of any caste or religion. Sattar also highlighted the ideology of Shiv Sena founder, the late Bal Thackeray, which revolved around "80 percent socialism and 20 percent politics." This approach prioritizes public service and connecting with the people, a principle that Chief Minister Shinde is committed to upholding. The government has already begun taking steps in this direction to fulfill this vision.
