Elections in Madhya Pradesh: On November 17, the city's food hub will offer "poha and jalebi" to early voters

In anticipation of the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, shop owners in the renowned food hub '56 Dukan' in Indore have come up with an initiative to encourage voter turnout. They plan to offer free snacks, including 'poha' and 'jalebi,' to early morning voters who cast their votes before 9 am. The aim of this gesture is to motivate voters to participate in the electoral process and enhance voter turnout.

Gunjan Sharma, the president of the 56 Dukan Traders Association, expressed that since Indore is recognized as the cleanest city in the country, the traders want the city to also excel in voter participation. He mentioned that they have decided to provide complimentary poha and jalebi to those who vote early, and this offer will be valid until 9 am on November 17. Voters will need to show the indelible ink mark to avail of this offer.

Sharma further explained that voters who cast their ballots after 9 am will still receive a 10 percent discount on these two snack items throughout the day.

Poha and jalebi is a beloved breakfast combination in Indore, and it is worth noting that '56 Dukan' has been designated as a "Clean Street Food Hub" by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

The Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, featuring 230 seats, will take place in a single phase on November 17, with results scheduled to be announced on December 3. The elections are expected to be a competitive contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress. The BJP has announced candidates for 136 of the 230 seats, while the Congress has released its initial list of 144 candidates.
