France claims the assailant who stabbed a student swore loyalty to the Islamic State

According to France's anti-terror prosecutor, the suspected Islamic extremist involved in the recent school attack in the northern town of Arras had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group before fatally stabbing a teacher. This information was revealed through an audio recording found on the suspect's phone, in which he expressed loyalty to the Islamic State and conveyed his strong aversion towards France, the French people, democracy, and the education system of the country.

Notably, the alleged attacker was a former student of the school in Arras. The violent incident resulted in the tragic death of a teacher who was stabbed in the neck, while three other individuals sustained injuries. Consequently, France elevated its terror alert status and deployed additional security measures.

During a press conference, the prosecutor, Jean-François Ricard, shared these details and did not entertain questions from the audience. In addition to the audio recording of allegiance, it was revealed that just before the stabbing, the assailant had recorded a brief video of himself standing in front of a war memorial. In this video, he expressed vehement criticism of French values and articulated menacing perspectives.
