Mufti Qaiser Farooq, a prominent figure within the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and a known associate of Hafiz Saeed, the orchestrator of the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attack, met his demise at the hands of unidentified individuals in Karachi, as reported by Pakistan media.
Qaiser Farooq, aged 30, was a founding member of LeT and fell victim to what authorities are terming a "targeted attack" near a religious institution in the Samanabad area on Saturday, according to sources within the police as reported by Dawn newspaper.
Sustaining gunshot injuries to his back during the attack, Farooq was promptly transported to a hospital. Regrettably, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing medical treatment.
Circulating on social media is purported CCTV footage of the incident involving Farooq, although the authenticity of the video could not be independently verified by India Today.
Furthermore, it has been reported that a 10-year-old boy also sustained injuries in the course of the attack.
