General Secretary of Sri Ram Janmbhoomi Trust, Champat Rai, held a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to formally invite him to the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, scheduled for January 22, 2024.
During the meeting, Champat Rai confirmed the momentous date of January 22, 2024, for the installation of the Lord Ram idol within the Garbhagriha of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
In an expression of his profound emotions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, elated by the invitation, shared his sentiments on social media. He conveyed, "Jai Siya Ram! Today is a day full of emotions. Recently, officials of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust had come to meet me at my residence. They have invited me to come to Ayodhya on the occasion of the consecration of Shri Ram Temple. I feel very blessed. It is my good fortune that in my lifetime, I will witness this historic occasion."
Accompanying his post on social media, the Prime Minister posted a photograph featuring the dignitaries of the trust responsible for overseeing the construction of the temple, where devotees believe Lord Ram was born. This image served as a formal invitation to the momentous event.
The invitation to Prime Minister Modi came just a day after the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief, Mohan Bhagwat, had announced that the installation of the Lord Ram idol at the Ayodhya temple would occur on January 22. In his announcement, he urged people across the nation to organize special programs at temples to celebrate this historic occasion.
The consecration of the Ram Lalla idol will be a comprehensive ten-day ritual commencing on January 14, as conveyed by Nripendra Mishra, chairman of the temple construction committee, back in June.
Significant progress has been made in the construction of the three-story Ram temple, with the ground floor work already completed. The Trust has made the decision to initiate the consecration of Ram Lalla on the auspicious day of Makar Sankranti, which falls on January 14.
