In connection with the Naxal case, 60 locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were raided

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) initiated extensive search operations on Monday, spanning a considerable number of locations, exceeding 60 in total, within the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This operation is part of an ongoing investigation pertaining to Left Wing Extremism (LWE).

Presently, these searches are actively being conducted in various districts of Andhra Pradesh, including Prakasam, Rajahmundry, and Srikakulam, while a separate NIA team is concurrently executing searches in Hyderabad, the capital city of Telangana.

These recent raids come on the heels of prior NIA operations conducted in Telangana and Chhattisgarh, centered around a case concerning the discovery of explosive materials and drones associated with the prohibited Communist Party of India (Maoist).

The focus of these searches primarily centers on the residences of individuals who have affiliations with civil rights groups and sympathize with Maoist ideologies. Among those whose homes are being searched are Duddu Venkatarao, a prominent figure in the caste eradication movement, Oru Srinivasa Rao, Nassar, recognized as a leader in civil rights activism, and numerous other leaders within this sphere.

Additionally, the NIA officials have also extended their search efforts to the residence of Konala Lazar, an employee associated with a Horlicks factory. Furthermore, the house of Kranti Chaitanya, a prominent lawyer and leader in the realm of human rights advocacy, has also come under scrutiny as part of these ongoing investigations.
