A tragic incident occurred in Madhopur village, located in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district, where a 13-year-old boy named Anand lost his life while engaging in a pretend scenario of hanging himself while playing with friends. According to a police official, Anand, along with his younger brother David and other children, was participating in this playtime activity when the unfortunate incident took place.
During their play, a dispute arose between Anand and his younger brother David. In response, Anand decided to create a makeshift noose using a towel and attached it to a tree branch with the assistance of a nearby sack. He climbed the tree, attempting to simulate hanging himself. However, an accident occurred when Anand's foot slipped, causing him to lose his balance and resulting in his tragic death.
Upon witnessing the incident, the children present at the scene immediately raised an alarm. Some villagers rushed to the spot, but sadly, Anand had already passed away by the time they arrived. At the time of the incident, Anand's parents were away from home, working.
Anand, a student in the fifth grade at a private school in the Amhar area, had two brothers and a sister. His father, Chhote Lal, and mother, Ramavati Devi, worked as laborers, and their family lived in a humble tin shed house. Their financial situation was challenging, according to the village head, Pramod Kumar.
Expressing his deep sorrow over the tragedy, Rasra MLA Uma Shankar Singh stated that he planned to meet with the victim's family soon and provide them with financial assistance. The boy's body was sent for a post-mortem examination, as reported by the police.
