Maulana Mahmood Madani, the leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, has voiced his apprehensions regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's anticipated participation in the upcoming consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple.
The prominent Muslim organization, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, expressed its concerns about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's expected attendance at the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The organization argued that, given his role as the country's Prime Minister, he should refrain from participating in such events.
This development follows the invitation extended by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra to PM Modi for the consecration ceremony, scheduled for January 22. PM Modi had previously conveyed his sense of blessing and how it would be a momentous occasion to witness this historic event during his lifetime in a social media post.
In an official statement, the chief of Jamiat, Maulana Mahmood Madani, expressed his reservations concerning PM Modi's involvement in the forthcoming ceremony at the Ram Temple. He stressed that considering the circumstances, the Prime Minister of the country should avoid participating in ceremonies related to any religious structure. Madani underscored the significance of ensuring that all religious rituals remain free from political interference and should be conducted and attended exclusively by religious individuals.
Moreover, the Jamiat chief, representing the Mahmood Madani faction, reiterated the organization's longstanding stance that the Supreme Court's judgment on the Ayodhya dispute was "generally flawed."
Additionally, Madani acknowledged a plea from specific Muslim leaders who requested the Prime Minister's presence at the foundation-laying ceremony for a mosque near Ayodhya, as reported in the media. This request was incongruous with the organization's position.
He also cautioned all officials affiliated with the Jamiat at every level to abstain from making any inconsiderate statements that deviate from the organization's official standpoint.
