In a rather unusual turn of events, an individual who was under the custody of the Haryana Police managed to make a daring escape by stealing an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) belonging to the police. This unexpected incident unfolded in Yamuna Nagar, where the police had initially halted their journey to mediate a dispute among a group of individuals by the roadside.
Subsequently, the stolen vehicle was successfully recovered, but regrettably, the keys to the ERV had mysteriously gone missing, adding a layer of complexity to the situation.
Kanwaljeet Singh, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, shed light on the sequence of events, explaining that his team had been alerted about a domestic dispute in the vicinity. As they were en route to the Khurdi village in response to the call, they decided to pause their journey when they observed a group of individuals engaged in a heated argument.
Promptly, the police team took it upon themselves to intervene, resulting in one of the individuals being taken into custody for further questioning. Once this was done, the police officers resumed their journey towards Khurdi village. Upon arriving at the location from which the initial complaint had originated, they proceeded to enter a residence to address the dispute. Unfortunately, amid the commotion, the oversight of not retrieving the ERV's key became apparent.
Seizing this opportune moment, the individual who had been in the custody of the police and was waiting in the vehicle chose to seize the moment and make a swift getaway in the ERV.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the police officers swiftly initiated a pursuit, employing a motorcycle to chase down the suspect. Ultimately, the ERV was discovered abandoned in a remote area, approximately 10 kilometers away from the initial scene.
Video footage captures the police personnel engaged in a search operation, as they scoured the surroundings in a concerted effort to locate the missing car keys.
The search operations to apprehend the suspect remained ongoing, with the police determined to bring the fugitive to justice.
