The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has declared its intention to hold a series of meetings across Kerala in a show of support for the Palestinians who are engaged in a struggle for liberation amidst the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
The SDPI plans to organize these meetings in various district centers as a demonstration of solidarity with the Palestinian people who are fervently fighting for the liberation of their homeland.
In a statement issued by the SDPI, it was emphasized that the Israeli Zionist regime has been subjecting the Palestinian population to a gradual and oppressive campaign, which includes severe measures such as cutting off access to drinking water, essential medications, and electricity. Furthermore, the agreements and peace accords established through international peace talks have been flagrantly violated, resulting in Palestinians being forced into becoming refugees within their own native land.
The statement further highlights that Palestinian civilians continue to face daily fatalities and incarcerations due to Israeli military interventions. It is characterized as a struggle for the very survival of the Palestinian people. The Israeli government is squarely held responsible for the ongoing bloodshed and massacres. Consequently, the statement calls upon all individuals of compassion to extend their support and solidarity to the freedom struggle of the Palestinian population.
Roy Arakkal, the SDPI State General Secretary, has conveyed that state and district leaders will address the solidarity meetings.
Israel recently experienced an unexpected and unprecedented attack by Hamas, the ruling authority in the Gaza Strip, in its southern regions on a Saturday morning. The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has resulted in over 1,600 casualties on both sides.
According to data from the Gaza Health Ministry, Israeli strikes have caused the deaths of 704 individuals, including 143 children and 105 women, with more than 4,000 sustaining injuries. In Israel, at least 900 individuals have lost their lives, and 2,600 have been injured as a consequence of the Hamas attack.
Israel's military authorities have reported the discovery of approximately 1,500 bodies of Hamas terrorists within the country. It is asserted that Israel has successfully gained control of the southern regions and has "reasserted full control" over the border.
