Mohan Bhagwat: Lord Ram's idol will be installed at the Ayodhya temple on January 22

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, during his address at the RSS Dussehra rally in Nagpur, delivered a momentous announcement, stating that the installation of the idol of Lord Ram at the Ayodhya temple in Uttar Pradesh is scheduled to take place on the 22nd of January. This auspicious event, wherein the cherished idol of Lord Ram will find its permanent abode in the Ayodhya temple, has drawn considerable attention and fervor.

Mohan Bhagwat, in his address, further encouraged the populace to organize and participate in celebratory programs at temples throughout the nation as a tribute to this momentous occasion. The vibrancy and enthusiasm of the public are instrumental in making this occasion truly grand and unforgettable.

Significantly, construction efforts at the Ram temple have been diligently progressing to ensure that the deadline for its impending inauguration in January is met. This construction, a testament to both faith and architecture, is a profound expression of devotion and commitment to the legacy of Lord Ram.

Adding to the fervor, on the 21st of October, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, embarked on a visit to the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya, where he meticulously assessed the ongoing construction work. His reverence for this monumental project was evident as he visited the Hanumangarhi temple and offered prayers, invoking divine blessings for the successful completion of this sacred endeavor.

Simultaneously, preparations are underway in Ayodhya for the much-anticipated Deepotsav, a grand celebration during which an astonishing 24 lakh 'diyas' (traditional earthen lamps) will be illuminated along the sacred 'Ram ki Pairi,' casting a luminous and resplendent aura. This festivity will be accompanied by a captivating light-and-sound show, adding a touch of enchantment and splendor to the eve of Diwali.

The tradition of Deepotsav in Ayodhya was inaugurated with the assumption of office by the Yogi Adityanath government in 2017. Its inception, marked by the lighting of 51,000 diyas in the first year, has grown exponentially. The number of illuminated diyas surged to an astounding 4.10 lakh in 2019, surpassed 6 lakh in 2020, and soared to over 9 lakh in 2021, thus establishing a remarkable Guinness World Record.

In the year 2022, the grandeur of the Deepotsav was further elevated as an astonishing 17 lakh diyas adorned the ghats of Ram ki Pairi, a spectacle to behold. It is noteworthy that the Guinness Book of World Records took into account only those diyas that remained aglow for a duration of five minutes or more, ultimately setting a record of 15.76 lakh illuminated diyas, once again attesting to the remarkable enthusiasm and devotion of the people.
