The forthcoming P20 Summit, scheduled to take place at the India International Convention and Expo Centre, known as Yashobhoomi, from October 12 to 14, is set to welcome the presiding officers from 25 countries along with 10 deputy speakers representing G20 member nations and invitee countries. Anticipated to be in attendance are over 350 delegates, making it a comprehensive three-day event featuring 50 Members of Parliament, 14 general secretaries, 26 vice presidents, the President of the International Parliamentary Union, and the President of the Pan-African Parliament.
The overarching theme for the 9th P20 Summit is proposed as "Parliaments for One Earth, One Family, One Future," as stated during a press conference by Birla. This summit's agenda includes four distinct sessions, focusing on topics such as "Transformation in People's Lives through Public Digital Platforms," "Women-led Development," "Accelerating SDGs," and "Sustainable Energy Transition."
Furthermore, a preliminary event called the Parliamentary Forum on Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE) is slated for October 12 at Yashobhoomi, along with an accompanying exhibition titled 'Mother of Democracy,' aimed at spotlighting India's age-old and participatory democratic traditions.
In addition to these activities, P20 delegates will have the opportunity to embark on a tour of the new Parliament House. The event will also feature a cultural evening and dinner hosted by the speaker, fostering camaraderie among participants.
