Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, disputes ever wanting to work with the BJP once more

There were rumors that the JDU might be aligning with the BJP again, but Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has categorically denied this, stating that his remarks were misinterpreted. During a convocation ceremony at Mahatma Gandhi Central University in Motihari, Nitish Kumar had made a comment that led to speculation. He pointed towards a BJP leader in the audience and said, "All the people we have here are our friends. You will remain connected to me as long as I live."

After this statement, media reports suggested that the JDU might be leaning towards the BJP again. However, Nitish Kumar clarified that his statement was taken out of context.

He explained, "I just wanted to remind the people present at the convocation to acknowledge the work done by the state government in Bihar, as people tend to focus on the central government without reason."

RJD's Shakti Yadav also weighed in, saying that Nitish was referring to his personal relationship with Radha Mohan Singh, a BJP leader who was present at the event, and it had no connection to any political party. People had misinterpreted his words.

The BJP distanced itself from the comments, with state BJP chief Saket Choudhary stating, "Nitish Kumar has left; we have asked him to leave. BJP believes that we are together in terms of development, but we have differences on principles. Amit Shah has stated that he has no connection with Nitish Kumar."

Meanwhile, Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi claimed that Nitish Kumar's mention of friendship towards Radha Mohan Singh was intended to create uncertainty and confusion among his current allies, the RJD and Congress, by alluding to his personal relationships with BJP members.

In response, Nitish Kumar dismissed Sushil Kumar Modi's claims, stating that Sushil Modi was not even named as Deputy CM in Bihar and had no significance there. He suggested that Sushil Modi was making unfounded statements. Nitish also recalled the past political dynamics and noted that he and Sushil Modi had worked well together during their earlier alliance. However, he expressed disappointment that Sushil Modi was not made Deputy CM and accused him of making daily remarks now that he has been removed from the position.
