Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has commented on Congress MLA Pradeep Eshwar's participation in the reality TV program Bigg Boss Kannada, stating that it was a decision made based on his personal preferences.
Shivakumar remarked, "There are instances of public representatives who have also pursued careers in the film industry. I am confident that he will continue to fulfill his responsibilities as an MLA. His choice to participate in Bigg Boss Kannada is a matter of personal decision, and nobody should have the authority to prevent him from doing so," he added.
The news of Pradeep Eshwar's entry into the Bigg Boss Kannada house triggered controversy on Tuesday when a promotional video showed the Congress legislator speaking in the legislative assembly. This led to speculation that he had joined the reality show as a contestant.
However, the Bigg Boss production team clarified on Monday that Pradeep Eshwar had entered the house as a guest. Following his departure from the show, MLA Pradeep expressed his intention to donate the remuneration he received for his guest appearance to an orphanage.
While some individuals on social media criticized the decision of the Congress legislator, others created memes and humorous content about his participation in the Bigg Boss Kannada show.
