Owner of Wagh Bakri, 49, passed away from a cerebral hemorrhage after falling to avoid stray dogs


Parag Desai, the owner and Executive Director of the Wagh Bakri Tea Group, passed away on Sunday evening in Ahmedabad, following a brain hemorrhage triggered by an accident while attempting to evade stray dogs. Mr. Desai was 49 years old.

According to a high-ranking executive at Wagh Bakri, Parag Desai was taking an evening stroll on October 15 when he slipped and fell while trying to fend off stray dogs.

He was promptly transported to a nearby hospital and subsequently transferred to a larger medical facility where he underwent surgery. Since then, he has been placed on a ventilator.

In an Instagram post, the company expressed, "It is with deep sadness that we announce the unfortunate demise of our beloved Parag Desai."

Parag Desai is survived by his wife and daughter.
