PM Modi advocates for the eradication of casteism and regionalism in his Dussehra speech

Addressing a vast audience during a Dussehra celebration in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a heartfelt call to address and eradicate social distortions, such as casteism and regionalism. While speaking at the Dussehra event held at Delhi's Ram Leela Maidan in Dwarka, PM Modi also encouraged the audience to commit to ten specific pledges, one of which involved elevating the socio-economic status of at least one underprivileged family.

During his address, PM Modi emphasized that the significance of "Ravana Dahan" should extend beyond the mere burning of an effigy; it should encompass the elimination of forces that seek to divide "Maa Bharati" by exploiting divisions based on caste and regionalism. He called for Vijayadashami to represent the victory of patriotism over every form of evil in the nation, urging everyone to pledge to eradicate social ills and discrimination from society. He spoke of a collective commitment to moving forward with renewed energy and determination in the pursuit of national development, ultimately working together to create a superior India, which he termed "Shreshtha Bharat."

Furthermore, PM Modi touched upon the topic of the Ram temple, expressing the nation's good fortune in witnessing the construction of Lord Ram's temple at his birthplace in Ayodhya after a prolonged wait. He viewed this achievement as a testament to the patience and perseverance of the Indian people.

PM Modi also celebrated the achievements of the Indian Space Research Organization (Isro) and their successful lunar landing mission. He looked to the future, asserting that India is on the cusp of becoming the world's third-largest economy. He highlighted significant milestones such as the recent inauguration of the new Parliament building and the passing of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam by Parliament, which is aimed at recognizing and celebrating the power of women.
